Flexible Therapy Settings: Center, Home, and Community

Children learn best when they can practice new skills in environments that make sense for them. Perfect Pair ABA operates a hybrid service model, meaning we match the therapy setting directly to your child’s current goals.

Center-Based ABA in Albuquerque

For families in the metro area, our Albuquerque center provides a structured, supportive environment. Center-based therapy is ideal for young children preparing for school, offering safe spaces to practice social interactions, group learning, and structured play with peers.

In-Home ABA Therapy

When goals are tied directly to family life, such as improving morning routines, mealtime flexibility, or sibling interactions, our behavior technicians bring therapy directly to your living room.

Community-Based Sessions

To help children generalize the skills they learn at home or in the center, we conduct community sessions. This might involve practicing transitions at a local park, managing sensory input at the grocery store, or navigating a classroom.

Supporting Children with Sensory Needs

Many children on the autism spectrum experience the world through a sensory filter that most people never notice. Textures, lighting, and crowded spaces can trigger real distress.

Perfect Pair ABA takes a careful, individualized approach to sensory support. Our clinicians observe how your child responds to different types of input (sound, touch, movement) before any intervention begins. Rather than simply teaching a child to “tolerate” discomfort, we use gradual exposure paired with functional communication, teaching your child how to safely advocate for themselves and request a break when they feel overwhelmed.

Understanding Levels of Care

One of the most common questions families ask after an autism diagnosis is how much therapy their child will actually need. ABA is not a single, fixed program; it exists on a spectrum of clinical intensity.

During your child’s intake assessment, our BCBA will observe your child, conduct standardized assessments, and consult with your family to recommend the appropriate level of behavioral health services in NM:

Comprehensive ABA

Typically involving 25 to 40 hours of direct therapy per week, comprehensive care is often recommended for young children needing support across multiple developmental domains, including communication, self-care, and behavior regulation.

Focused ABA

Involving 10 to 20 hours per week, focused ABA targets one or two specific areas. This might involve building a discrete skill, like requesting needs, or addressing a particular behavioral challenge.

Maintenance and Monitoring

As your child reaches their clinical goals, they may transition to a step-down level of care where direct therapy hours are reduced, but a BCBA continues to monitor progress and adjust strategies.

Transparent, Weekly Progress Tracking

Tracking progress is a core element of effective ABA therapy. During every session, your Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) collects data on your child’s target skills, noting how often a skill is demonstrated and whether responses are becoming more independent.

We prioritize transparent data sharing. During regular check-ins, your BCBA will walk you through the progress graphs, explain what the numbers mean in practical terms, and coach you on how to reinforce those same skills during everyday routines at home. If a child’s progress plateaus, the clinical team uses this data to adjust the teaching strategy immediately.
